What a pampered creature Simon Cowell is.

Last week it emerged that the £200 million music mogul is so determined to drink from the fountain of youth that he spends a small fortune on an anti-ageing super juice smoothie made of lingonberry, choke berry and acerola.

Here, Alison Boshoff reveals the other little luxuries the vainest man on TV relies on...

THAT HAIR

It may not look impressive, indeed it hasn't changed in decades, but Cowell takes care to maintain his hair just the way he likes it.

It is trimmed every three weeks and he blow-dries it himself, upside down, with a dollop of gel. The end result is a not-terribly-sophisticated flat top, sometimes compared to a worn-out toothbrush.

Dannii Minogue, formerly an X Factor judge, is not a fan. ‘I want to change that hair do,' she said.

‘Sometimes it gets really flat like Spongebob SquarePants and I can't cope with that.'

Simon insists it is neither dyed nor a wig. ‘It's all real. I've never dyed my hair, ever, and I wouldn't,' he has said. However, the salt and pepper grey noticeable in June seems to have suddenly disappeared.

TANNING

Simon likes to be tanned and follows through with characteristic precision. His home in Los Angeles  has a full-length tanning machine which  he uses whenever he is there.

There is  also a ‘booster' machine which tans  just his face. In the UK, it is said  he sticks to spray tans.

WAXING

A naturally hirsute man, with a taste for shirts which show off his pecs, it's obvious that Simon has a waxing habit. Three years ago he was in possession of a chest rug, but in 2010 it appeared smooth overnight.

He admitted: ‘You can't dye chest hair and https://el.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=Nubo+Beauty&title=%CE%95%CE%B9%CE%B4%CE%B9%CE%BA%CF%8C%3A%CE%91%CE%BD%CE%B1%CE%B6%CE%AE%CF%84%CE%B7%CF%83%CE%B7&go=%CE%9C%CE%B5%CF%84%CE%AC%CE%B2%CE%B1%CF%83%CE%B7&ns0=1 no one wants to see a grey chest, do they? It had to go!'

There is nothing wrong with looking after yourself and having a regime

He has changed his mind since then, and the chest hair is back — it was greatly in evidence at the Britain's Got Talent finals, where he showed off his he-vage (male cleavage) in a shirt unbuttoned nearly to the navel.

But it's not just his chest hair that needs to be tamed.

Simon has his eyebrows professionally threaded once a month, and there are rumours that he's even tackled his ‘werewolf' hands and wrists, although this seems to have caused some embarrassment.

‘I have never been waxed ever — anywhere,' Simon claimed.
‘I swear on my mother's life.' But he added: ‘There is nothing wrong with looking after yourself and having a regime — a good scrub.'
Can a scrub remove hair?

FOOD AND DRINK

He is not a great drinker of wine or spirits and really only likes the taste of the Japanese yeast-free beer Sapporo.

He's a man of simple tastes and prefers comfort food such as shepherd's pie and his mum Julie's roast dinners. He is on a permanent health kick, and snacks on raw vegetables to control his weight.

Even before the superjuice smoothie, Simon Cowell has sworn by the benefits of freshly-squeezed drinks.

He is a great believer in cramming in all the antioxidants he can, and has been known to try juices made with kale and wheatgrass . Amanda Holden once said: ‘Simon has green swamp juice in a mug.'

His morning drink is papaya, which he follows with porridge and yet more fruit, often blueberries and mango.

Throughout the day he will try other smoothies and ‘vitamin juices' freshly-squeezed to his specifications. A confessed sufferer from depression, he believes the fruit lifts his mood as well as keeping him physically healthy.

LIFTS IN HIS SHOES

Handmade by Berluti, Simon's shoes are invariably pointy-toed and immaculate.

They cost £1,000 a pair. He is self-conscious about his height so many of his shoes include ‘subtle' lifts or heels. He is 5ft 7in, but boosts this to 5ft 10in with the hair and the shoes. He always wears his trousers over-long, to hide the heels.

CREAMS AND POTIONS

At 51, Simon Cowell has a beauty regime which would make a supermodel blush.

There are dozens of potions stored out of sight in his massive black bathroom — which comes complete with black loo roll.

His favourite products are from the exclusive NuBo range, which is stocked by Harrods and, predictably, is very expensive.

Its Cell Dynamic Overnight Recharge is £200 a bottle, its Cell Dynamic Essence for Men is £180 and the Cell Dynamic Recharge is £105. But NuBo is known to be one of the most powerful anti-ageing potions on the market.

Simon's taste in aftershave is reported to be just as expensive.

Those who've been close enough to smell believe he wears Bugatti.

DESIGNER DRESSING

The ultimate formula dresser, Cowell has very precise requirements.

A case in point is the essential plain white V-neck T-shirt with a small breast pocket. He picks these up from Armani by the dozen for £99 each. He likes to wear them only a few times before they are discarded. Occasionally he wears a crew-neck T-shirt, which will be the £60 plain white or grey one from Nicole Farhi.

Cowell has two butlers, one in the UK and one in America, to advise him on which T-shirt and jeans to wear that day

He has dozens of the white dress shirts sold by Armani for £210 each.

He will not — ever — wear a pattern or a colour. His fiance, Mezhgan Hussainy, suggested a lemon shirt and a red jumper, but he said no way. He says: ‘When I go shopping I buy five of everything.  Five pairs of the same jeans or five pairs of the  same shoes.'

He has dozens of pairs of near-identical A-pocket Armani jeans, costing £140, in grey, dark and pale denim.

When it comes to suits, Simon favours Richard Anderson of Savile Row — pale grey for summer, but mostly black. He picks them up three or four at a time, at £3,000 a piece.

BAD HABITS

Cowell smokes 40 Kool menthol cigarettes a day.

He was supposed to give up for his 50th  birthday in 2009, but hasn't been able to.

His greatest health problem, however, is insomnia which is responsible for the bags under his eyes which even make-up, lighting or Botox cannot hide.
He is often up and making calls until 3am.

WRINKLE-FREE

‘I've had Botox, but then again, pretty much everyone I know has,' says Simon. ‘To me, Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste.

It works, you do it once a year — who cares?' In fact, sources suggest he freshens up with Botox a little more than that. But does it work?

In June, he had a droopy eye and a bruised cheek at the finals of Britain's Got Talent — which can be a tell-tale sign of a badly administered injection. Simon thinks everyone should have Botox — Louis Walsh said Cowell gave him £3,000 worth of Botox vouchers for Christmas one year.

In 2007, he told reporters that ‘Simon's definitely had a boob job', claiming that Cowell had pectoral implants and 'lots of other work done.' Surely, though, this is just a piece of mischief.

Cowell denies everything.

TEETH

Cowell has popularised American-standard teeth in the UK entertainment industry, with a dazzling set of white veneers, said to ahve cost £1,000 per tooth.

When not on screen, he continuously chews Extra sugar-free gum - apparently he has a horror of bad breath due to his 40-a-day smoking habit.
