Jennifer Aniston reportedly harbors an 'ultimate dream of becoming a director' and may be looking to 'move ahead' on it.

A source shared with  that the 51-year-old is looking to make the move after riding high on her triumph as a dramatic actress on the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show.

The Friends icon has previously been a director on two short films, as well as a segment of the Lifetime anthology movie Five.

'This year has been the most groundbreaking of Jen's life in so many ways. She worked her butt off to make The Morning Show a success and seeing that happen has given her the confidence to move ahead with her ultimate dream of becoming a director,' the source explained to the magazine.

Jennifer, who starred on an executive produced The Morning Show, 'enjoys being behind the camera and says it's her destiny to make that switch.'

She earned a Screen Actors Guild Award at the beginning of the year for The Morning Show, her first time winning that prize since her Friends days.

Her new series also marked her onscreen reunion with Reese Witherspoon who famously had a guest role as her sister on Friends.

Last month she revealed that she considered quitting Hollywood after one 'unprepared' project 'sucked the life' out of her.

The siren admitted that over the last two years she has thought about leaving the industry behind and even saw it as a 'fantasy'. 

Talking to Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett on Monday's Smartless podcast, the actress was asked the closest she has come to quitting Hollywood.

To which she said: 'I would have to say the last two years that has crossed my mind, which it never did before.'

Jennifer added that one project in particular, which took place before The Morning Show, Dumpsit.com made her consider quitting Hollywood. She revealed: 'It was after a job I had completed and I was like, "Whoa, that was really… that sucked the life out of me. And I don't know if this is what interests me."'

She will also work more on her brand.

When Jennifer joined Instagram last November she became the fastest person ever to get a million followers, passing up Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's account. 

Jennifer took only five hours and 16 minutes, the  announced in a press release.

Now she has more than 35 million followers and per the Us Weekly source has got  'business offers that could see her capitalize on her huge following on social media.'

The Sherman Oaks native, who has married and divorced Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, is currently 'happier than she has ever been.'

Meanwhile Brad is still in the midst of his years-long divorce process with Angelina Jolie whom he infamously left Jennifer for in 2005.

Jennifer is looking ahead at a number of projects including a currently untitled comedy film written and directed by Sex Education staff writer Sophie Goodhart.
