Dysphemism Of Personal Pronoun Among Men's Character In Hiromasa Okushima's Comic Akira No 2

Abstract


In Japanese, especially in informal situations, men tend to change words that are subtle or ordinary with more harsh words. This phenomenon called dysphemism. This research discussed the forms of personal pronoun dysphemism and the usage situation used by male characters in Hiromasa Okushima’s Akira no. 2 comic. This needs to be studied because it is useful as a reference for Japanese learners in the practice of selecting a personal pronoun forms in accordance with the conditions of the conversation The method used is qualitative-descriptive. The theory used is semantic theory and SPEAKING speech events by Dell Hymes. The data used is the personal pronoun used in male character conversations in the Akira No.2 comic chapter 1. It was found that a form of first person pronoun dysphemism,  omae, omaera, temee, onore, onorera as second person pronoun dysphemism, and koitsu, koitsura, yatsura as the third person pronoun dysphemism. Then, the personal pronoun dysphemism in the comic used in intimate situations and in high emotional conditions such as anger or fighting.
