THE FIGURE OF YUDHISTIRA IN SWARGAROHANAPARWA (A MORAL PHILOSOPHY EDUCATION OF JAVA IN ANCIENT LITERATURE WORKS MAHABHARATA)

Abstract

The figure of Yudhistira is one of the names of Pandava family figures. Taken from the Ancient Javanese Prose, this work is the product of an ancestral culture adapted from the Mahabarata book. This book gets a special position in the hearts of the people. The teachings of life contained there are very useful for the needs of every human being. Yudhistira figure is a figure who contributed a lot in life, especially in Swargarohanaparwa. Yudhistira succeeded in expressing the process of human life after being separated from the world with the term Ngunduh wohing pakarti. This phrase contains values that are used as guidelines for good moral attitudes or social control that must be emulated by humans. Swargarohanaparwa is the 18th form of parwa in the Mahabharata written work which discusses the Pandawa and Korawa matters from birth until the Bharatayudha war was over. The method that is used as the basis for writing in this study is a qualitative method by applying descriptive qualitative studies, namely by describing each of the elements in the story and analyzing it with moral theory.
