Abstract


The research studied how long the incubation and bark compost dose of cassava to the decline of heavy metals in soil contaminated with agricultural chemicals. This research was conducted at the College of Agriculture Haji Agus Salim and agricultural Laboratory, University of Andalas, starting in March to October 2015, the heavy metal of agrochemicals that are dangerous to humans because the metal is joined absorbed by plants and carried at harvest. In this study, we tried to reduce levels of heavy metals in contaminated soil agrochemical, Leather cassava composted, then incubated according to the dosage with the contaminated soil agrochemical. The results showed that compost from cassava peel with a dose of 20 tonnes / ha were incubated for 3 weeks is able to reduce lead (Pb) 5.27 ppm, copper (Cu) 2.68 ppm and cadmium (Cd) of 2.65 ppm compared to initial soil. This research still needs to be continued so that science and technology in an effort to reduce heavy metal contaminated soil agrochemical can be more widely available and expected to be used by farmers in Indonesia
